We all must have been very surprised about Amy Winehouse news, one of the talented singer from UK, was found dead at her home in North London on Saturday (23 / 7). As published in the Women's Wear-fashion sites, Fendi was reported to be the only fashion house issued a statement in honor of Amy's gone at the age of 27 years. Fendi revealed:

TREND ALERT: COLOR BLOCK

How do you feel about this colorful trend? Are you going along  with it or not? Maybe just a little? Something that has really caught my attention this season is colour  blocking trend. It is not a new trend as such but is definitely back  with a big bang. Here I try to decode the trend and give my two cents on  it. Since it’s the first of it kinds article from my side, I hope it  makes a fun read.

Here’s my little rundown of how to color block. I’ll spare you all the dry history behind it and cut to the chase.

What is the colour blocking / Color Block?
 

Colour block fashion is one of the hottest new trends for the season.  It combines the use of two or more blocks of colour in an ensemble.  This could be for a top, bottom, tunic, a dress and even a handbag or  shoes. Simply it means – creating an outfit by putting areas or blocks  of solid color next to each other. It can include monotone, bright  colours, muted colors, contrasting and complimentary colors. Clothes,  shoes, handbags and accessories can all feature color block designs or  can make up different blocks of color to be put together for a color  block outfit.

For the most part this is what we do anyways when we dress, but Spring 11 “color blocking” is an exaggerated version. To get the color blocking look you want to go for bright and bold colors. There are some rules to follow, however, and here they are:

LOUDER THE BETTER: If there’s never been a better time to wear loud pops of color, it’s now. Take advantage of the opportunity to be loud for no reason and still be fabulous.

CLASHY ATTIRE ONLY: Don’t be afraid to clash. We’re so used to the same coordinating colors but try pink and red. Try navy and black. If you’re hesitant, you can always stick to the old faithful complementary color wheel (see below). That thing is fail proof.

K.I.S.S.: Keep It Simple Sister! This look will look best with neutral accessories. Grey is the new neutral tone. Grey belts, shoes, accessories will compliment your outfit nicely.

THREE’S THE CHARM: Stick to 2 or 3 colors max. Anymore than that and you’re borderline rubik’s cube. No bueno. I’d go for 3. It makes for a more interesting outfit.

If you’ve never used a color wheel before, don’t worry. All you need to know is how to draw a line straight through the middle of the wheel from one side to the other. This is how you identify which colors traditionally compliment each other.

Here are a few examples of very exaggerated color blocking for your enjoyment.

And to test your guts, color blocked hair like me, dare to be me huh? LOL :) In my opinion it is really fun trend to sport this summer. Firstly it gives us the opportunity to pair colors which we won’t dare to combine together otherwise. Secondly what are summers without cheerful bright colors?? Gone is the season of muted warm shades. Its time to paint the town in all colors possible.

Colours of Indonesia: “The Enchanting Culture of Minahasa”, The Touch of Gujarat and The Power of Patola Minahasa

Kreativitas Thomas Sigar dalam mengangkat kain tradisional Indonesia memang tak pernah surut. Throughout his career, he has presented his works such as tenun Aceh Gayo, tenun Songket (weaving typical of Southeast Sulawesi), tenun Tapanuli (ulos-Batak), tenun Nusa Tenggara Barat dan Nusa Tenggara Timur, even weaving artisans of Cirebon and the various batik from Java.

Di antara beragam kain tradisional tersebut, kain Minahasa termasuk yang menarik perhatiannya. Sekitar bulan Juli 2007, diadakan Upacara Adat Watu Pinawetangan. Di situ Thomas mencermati guratan simbol-simbol penuh makna di permukaan Watu Pinawetangan, yang dibuat oleh nenek moyang Minahasa sekitar 3000 tahun silam.

"Guratan itu tidak utuh lagi, sudah banyak yang dirusak oleh tangan-tangan jahil. Beruntung gambar guratan seutuhnya ternyata masih ada di catatan sejarah yang ditulis Hukum Tua Kanonang. Terinspirasi dengan guratan simbol-simbol di batu yang begitu unik dan penuh makna, muncul niat untuk menjadikannya sebagai motif kain,” ujar Thomas, menjelang show bertema “The Enchanting Culture of Minahasa”, di Ballroom XXI Djakarta Theater, Kamis (30/6/2011) lalu.

Show yang digelarnya kali ini ini mengikuti peragaan akbar pertama tentang kain Minahasa pada 2009. Tahun 2010, Thomas juga sempet menggelar show bertema "Colours of Indonesia" yang digelar oleh Yayasan Sulam Indonesia di Departemen Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata.

Peragaan yang menampilkan 25 potong busana tersebut terbagi dalam dua subtema, yakni The Touch of Gujarat dan The Power of Patola Minahasa...

Tiga belas busana dalam koleksi The Touch of Gujarat menampilkan teknik hand print yang ditampilkan di atas kain bahan sutera Thailand dan sutera chiffon. Untuk menggambarkan pengaruh kain India pada kain tenun Minahasa olahan baru ini, Thomas menggarap kain-kainnya menjadi busana bergaya India, yang dicampur dengan pengaruh animisme dengan dominasi warna coklat kayu, hijau pupus dedaunan, dan abu-abu batu-batuan. Rancangan busana prianya terinspirasi dari Kurta (kemeja tunik panjang India) dan jas tutup bergaya Nehru. Rancangan busana wanita diberi sentuhan jelabah dengan teknik draperi, serta unsur bebatuan yang menambah keindahan busana.

Motif yang digunakan adalah patola pinatikan dan patola minahasa. Patola Pinatikan adalah motif dari kain Pinatikan yang diberikan sentuhan modern menjadi motif sirip ular (patola). Sedangkan motif patola minahasa adalah motif-motif sakral dari kain patola yang dipadukan dengan motif tembega (perhiasan kuno dari Minahasa). Aksesori berukuran besar yang dikembangkan dari motif kuno sampai lambang-lambang tradisional hadir dalam bentuk anting panjang, tusuk konde besar, dan kalung bernuansa animisme.

Sedangkan 12 busana dalam The Power of Patola Minahasa menggunakan kain-kain tenun, di antaranya kaiwu patola, kaiwu pinawetengan, dan kaiwu pinatikan, dan kaiwu tembega.

Kaiwu patola adalah tenun yang terinspirasi dari motif kain patola (Gujarat/India) yang disakralkan di Minahasa era pra-Kristiani. Di Minahasa, ular sawah (phyton) dinamakan ular patola karena memiliki sirip kulit yang menyerupai kain patola India. Sedangkan kaiwu pinawetangan adalah motif dari watu pinawetengan yang muncul kembali pada desain motif yang digabungkan dengan motif yang terdapat di kain tenun Minahasa kuno. Motif “meander” (bentuk sungai yang menyerupai bentuk ular) tampil dalam komposisi motif pengembangan ini.

Lalu kain kaiwu pinatikan adalah kain tenun yang kembali menampilkan motif ular (patola) namun dengan motif “sualanga” (perhiasan asli Minahasa yang berupa bulan sabit). Terakhir, kaiwu tembega adalah motif tembega, yaitu perhiasan asli Minahasa yang diartikan sebagai simbol alat reproduksi wanita yang disakralkan. Motif ini tampil untuk pertama kali dalam bentuk kain dengan kepala (tumpal) yang berpasangan dengan selendang panjang.

Bangkok punya Khao San Road, and Surabaya punya KYA KYA! It's a China Town that turns into a spacious outdoor eating place at night which located in Kembang Jepun Street, the old Surabaya. Kembang Jepun is Surabaya's China Town and in the nothern part of Surabaya.

During the day, Kembang Jepun is one of the busiest trading centres in the city. In the past, this area was very desolate at night because it was a very quiet area, nobody would dare to walk in this area at night.

Since 2003, Kembang Jepun street was turned to outdoor eating place at night with all Chinese adornment, namely Chinese paper lanterns, Chinese lion statues that guard the entrance gate for good luck etc. In this place you can have local, chinese and western dishes. My two favourite food stalls here are Ahong Chinese food and Mie Kembang Jepun (Kembang Jepun noodle). Their food is good with reasonable prices. Sometimes, there are live music performances, like dangdut (it is Indonesia's music specialty), jazz, Chinese, Javanese or Arabian music etc.

I like this place and it was a cozy place. The only problem is when the rainy season comes ... because it is an open space eating place, then as you can imagine, nobody want to have dinner under the rain right? :P

The right colours will make the difference between looking good and looking fantastic. Wrong colours will make your skin uneven and your eyes look dull. Determine your skin tone and use my colour tips to transfrom your look.

Warm skin tones wear warm firey colours, and cool skin tones look best wearing cool icy colours, eg cool equals silver, and warm is gold.

Cool skin tones can be light, medium, and dark. To tell if you are cool light you have pale blonde hair, eyes are pale blue, grey, or green, and your skin is milky white. Your best colours are pale silver, aqua, sky blue, or lilac. Cheeks will glow in a baby pink, and lips in pale pink glosses. TIPS: don't use dark heavy black eye liner.

To tell if you are a cool medium, you have brown or dark blonde hair, your eyes are brown or blue, sometimes with grey or green, your skin is milky with rosy cheeks. Your best colours are slate greys, denium blues, cool taupes, charcoal browns, cheeks in a dusty pink, and lips in pink. TIPS: orangey brown on lips drains your colour.

To tell if you are a cool dark, you have deep brown or jet blue black hair, your eyes are bright blue, cool grey, pale green, or hazel, and your skin is pale white. Your best colours to use would be deep purples and blues, deep navy hues, and pink blushes, and blue-red or burgundy lipsticks. TIPS: no peachy pastels, or terracotta on lips.

Warm skin tones can also be light, medium, and dark. To tell if you are warm light, you are strawberry blonde, or golden auburn hair, you have hazel, green, or blue green eyes, your skin is like cream and often with freckles. Best colours are champagne, ivory, honey, and pale green. Apricot lip gloss, or a hot fire engine red will make your lips look fantastic. TIPS: black eyeliner can be too heavy.

To tell if you are a warm medium, usually red heads or auburn, chestnut brown with a golden glow, they have green, brown, hazel, or blue green eyes, and peachy almond skin. Your best colours are antiuque gold, earthy brown, and olive green. Sheer bronze on cheeks, and golden berry on lips. TIPS: stay away from purple and icy pastels.

If you are warm dark, you have chestnut brown hair, mahogany or black hair, and brown or hazel green eyes. Your skin is olive, asian, or black. Your best colours are bronze, warm chocolate brown, leafy green, and aubegine. Lips look great in flame red, or nude glosses. TIPS: silvery metalics look washed out on the eyes.

Saat ini dunia sedang bergerak menuju pemenuhan konsep globalisasi. Ramalan mengenai terwujudnya satu dunia yang dikumandangkan oleh beberapa tokoh tata Negara nampaknya mulai mendekati kenyataan, pun dalam bentuk yang lain, namun nampaknya dunia bergerak menuju ke arah sebuah penyatuan.

Perkembangan teknologi terutama dalam bidang komunikasi dan informasi kemudian mempercepat proses tersebut, tidak hanya dari unsur jarak, waktu dan biaya, tetapi juga pola dan gaya hidup, trend. Informasi sebuah trend di satu tempat akan menyebar dengan sedemikian cepat ke tempat lain dalam waktu yang sangat singkat apalagi ketika trend tersebut kemudian dibarengi dengan motif-motif lain, biasanya ekonomi.

Di tengah semakin “menyatunya” dunia, lantas, apa yang kemudian membedakan seorang satu dengan lainnya? Apakah hanya dari nama? Apakah sebuah nama kemudian menunjukan identitas seseorang, atau sebuah bangsa secara utuh? Dari warna kulit? Dari status? Atau keyakinan? Sementara batasan-batasan tadi sudah menjadi semakin luntur, meski tidak habis sama sekali, lantas apa yang kemudian bisa menjadi identitas seorang individu? Atau sebuah bangsa? Ketika dunia sama sekali tidak memiliki batas-batas nyata, apa yang membuat kita dapat “pulang ke rumah” dan merasa di “rumah”? Jawabannya sederhana...
Sejarah dan Budaya!

Ketika batas-batas Negara kemudian hanya menjadi sebuah syarat administratif belaka, ketika ras dan warna kulit kemudian hanya sekedar sebuah keragaman, maka sejarah dan budaya sebuah bangsa atau seorang individu akan menjadi sebuah petunjuk bagi identitas diri dan bangsanya. Pertanyaan yang kemudian muncul, apabila ketika semua perbedaan sudah “dihilangkan” sama sekali, semua manusia hidup dalam sebuah payung yang sama, lantas apa perlunya kemudian kita menggali sejarah dan budaya? Sejujurnya sejarah menyatakan bahwa mimpi penyatuan hingga saat ini tidak pernah ada yang benar-benar berhasil, karena manusia adalah mahluk yang sangat unik masing-masingnya, pun ketika kita berbicara tentang kembar identik, lagi pula sejarah menyatakan; ide kita “dikontrol dan dikendalikan” untuk umat manusia tidak pernah menemui keberhasilan, setidaknya sampai dengan saat ini.

Karena setiap individu unik, maka manusia sangat memerlukan eksistensi-keberadaan, pengakuan, aktualisasi terhadap hidup dan kehidupannya, dirinya dan lingkungannya sesederhana apapun itu, sehingga kemudian munculah apa yang disebut sebagai kebudayaan. Saya tidak dapat membayangkan seorang manusia/individu atau sebuah bangsa yang tidak memiliki budaya, kalau itu yang terjadi, apa bedanya manusia dengan sebuah mesin cuci di rumah kita?

Kematian sebuah bangsa! Itulah yang akan terjadi ketika sebuah bangsa tidak lagi memiliki budaya, dan itu sedang terjadi di Negara yang kita cintai ini, Indonesia, sebuah negara warisan konsep Nusantara yang dibangun berabad silam ini akan menemui titik nadirnya jika salah satu pengikat budaya bangsa ini, tari tradisional, sekarat, apapun itu, tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai sebuah pentas kesenian belaka, tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai alat propaganda semata, atau panggung boneka dengan kostum warna-warni. Tari tradisional sesungguhnya menyimpan dan menjadi bagian dari pembentuk DNA bangsa ini, layaknya jenis-jenis kebudayaan lain yang tersebar dari Sabang sampai Merauke, karena dari kebudayaan-kebudayaan tersebut kita dapat menggali banyak hal tentang karakter masyarakat pembentuknya, menelaah jaman pengembangannya, fungsinya, sampai kepada hal-hal kecil yang menjadi hiasannya, sehingga kita dapat merekonstruksi dan menerjemahkan unsur-unsur pembentuk jatidiri bangsa ini.

Menurut kamus umum bahasa Indonesia, yang disebut cita-cita adalah keinginan, harapan, tujuan yang selalu ada dalam pikiran. Baik keinginan, harapan, maupun tujuan merupakan apa yang mau diperoleh seseorang pada masa mendatang. Dengan demikian cita-cita merupakan pandangan masa depan, merupakan pandangan hidup yang akan datang. Pada umumnya, cita-cita merupakan semacam garislinear yang makin lama makin tinggi, dengan kata lain; cita-cita merupakan keinginan, harapan, dan tujuan manusia yang makin tinggi tingkatannya.

Apabila cita-cita itu tidak mungkin atau belum mungkin terpenuhi, maka cita-cita itu disebut angan-angan. Di sini persyaratan dan kemampuan belum terpenuhi, sehingga usaha untuk mewujudkan cita-cita itu tidak mungkin dilakukan. Misalnya seorang anak bercita-cita ingin menjadi dokter, ia belum sekolah, tidak mungkin berpikir baik, sehingga tidak punya kemampuan berusaha untuk mencapai cita-cita. Itu baru dalam taraf angan-angan.

Antara masa sekarang yang merupakan realita dengan masa yang akan datang sebagai ide atau cita-cita terdapat jarak waktu. Dapatkah seseorang mencapai apa yang dicita-citakan, hal itu bergantung dari tiga faktor. Pertama, manusianya yaitu memiliki cita-cita, kedua kondisi yang dihadapi selama mencapai apa yang dicita-citakan, dan ketiga seberapa tinggikah cita-cita yang hendak dicapai.

Suatu cita-cita tidak hanya dimiliki oleh individu. Masyarakat dan bangsa pun memiliki cita-cita juga. Cita-cita suatu bangsa merupakan keinginan atau tujuan suatu bangsa. Misalnya bangsa Indonesia mendirikan suatu negara yang merupakan sarana untuk menjadi suatu bangsa yang masyarakatnya memiliki keadilan dan kemakmuran.

Nah, soal cari teman memang lebih susah daripada cari musuh. Untuk itu, memelihara persahabatan perlu banget. Selain untuk memenuhi kebutuhan sosial, punya teman banyak, termasuk yang ada nun jauh di sana, bermanfaat sebagai link kita pada masa depan. Yap, kalau kita sudah sama-sama membutuhkan kerja sama. Misalnya, bisnis. Nah, cara membangun komunikasinya bisa seperti ini...

Setiap kali dengar orang ngeluh soal diet, aku selalu merasa sangat beruntung dengan postur kurus begini. Why? Sure ya, mereka punya prinsip "pagi makan ala raja, siang kayak orang biasa, dan malam kayak pengemis", wiiiew! Hell no ya, nyiksa diri diet macam itu.

Well, actually aku cuma mau ngebahas beberapa produk pelangsing berupa suplemen. Tentunya kalian pernah denger dong beberapa suplemen pelangsing seperti MEIZITANG, FATLOSS, LIDA, FRUTA PLANTA, FRUTA PLUS, dan TENLUNG. Nah, banyak banget online shop yang jual tuh, dengan harga yang bersaing.

Beberapa temanku rata-rata pada berhasil turun 5-20kg dalam waktu yang sesingkat-singkatnya. Jadi mikir kan, bahaya ga sih? Soalnya kata beberapa dokter dalam konsultasiku, diet itu idealnya turun ga lebih dari 3kg dalam 1 minggu! Kalau turun drastis, berpotensi terganggunya kesehatan tubuh. Padahal kalau dipikir, tanpa obat pelangsing ini biasanya menyebabkan cairan tubuh kita keluar sebanyak-banyaknya. So, jadinya kita akan sangat sering kencing dan selalu merasa haus. Udah gitu pusing, mual, jantung berdebar, sesak nafas, lemes, gelisah kan jadinya. Berat badan memang akan cepat turun, namun kita jadi dehidrasi, alih-alih sehat, sakit yang kita dapat. Lemak tidak hilang, penyakit malah timbul karena dehidrasi, ginjal kerja lebih keras. Fatalnya kematian menghadang. So scared >,<

MEIZITANG
1. Meizitang mah berbahaya kalau beli yang palsu.
2. Meizitang bener2 efektif buat turunin berat badan (tested by my cousin consumed this product over 3 month).
3. Sebelum beli produk ini mending lihat testimonial penjual dl, kalau banyak dan meyakinkan dijamin asli. 4. Efek bagi beberapa pemakai: jantung berdebar, mulut kering, meningkatnya tekanan darah, rasa tidak enak di tenggorokan, berkeringat, pusing, mual & susah tidur ---ini yg mengganggu. Mungkin efek2 itulah yg membuat nafsu makan menurun, ya iyalah.. badan ga enak gitu gimana punya nafsu makan? 0_o Pemakaian lebih dari satu bulan akan timbul fluktuasi emosi yang tidak stabil. Ada juga beberapa yang mengalami terlambat haid, IDK why, maybe karena obat itu ngefek juga sama hormonal tubuh kali ya, CMIIW!
5. Kalau orang bilang Meizitang ini mesti diminum pagi-pagi atau 30 menit sebelum makan, sebenernya ga ada bedanya ketika diminum malem dan 30 menit setelah makan 6. Biasanya ditulis "aman dipakai dr umur 18-30 tahun". So, yang dibawah ketentuan umur jangan coba-coba deh yah walau aku ga tau jadinya gimana.

FRUTA PLUS

Kata beberapa konsumen, Fruta Plus nemang bikin pengen minum tapi ga separah produk yang sudah dibahas diatas, apalagi yang gak ori (>.<). Beberapa tidak mengalami gangguan tidur dan tidak menimbulkan perut konstipasi. FYI, Fruta Plus ini mengandung mangosteen extract alias buah manggis (major ingredient). Buah manggis seperti yang kita tau mengandung banyak antioksidan, xanthone (pengobat segala penyakit), Vit. C, B1, B6 dan lainnya.

Sedangkan Fruta Planta active ingredientsnya adalah lemon, bitter gourd, fruit gum. So far "belum" ada diketahui adanya produk palsu dari Fruta Plus ini. Tapi kabarnya, (dari official Fruta Plus sendiri), ada produk yang "sepertinya' menjiplak Fruta Plus, yaitu Fruta Bio. Dilihat dari kemasannya banyak yang mirip kalau tidak teliti. Bandingkan deh...

Well, aku ga mengklaim produk-produk pelangsing diatas ini bahaya, anggap saja bukan produknya yg jelek atau bahaya tp karena respon tubuh manusia terhadap obat itu 50 : 50, ada yang baik dan buruk. Berfikir positif saja, itu intinya. Dan tentu saja dengan catatan yang anda konsumsi adalah produk yang asli :) Itu pun masih harus was-was, sudah ada produk pelangsing buatan asli indonesia yang ada ijin BPOM, kenapa mesti pake produk luar yang ga jelas sih? Apalagi udah jelas produknya ditolak ama FDA, yang berarti not recommended. Be a smart buyer, girls :)

For the most part this is what we do anyways when we dress, but Spring 11 “color blocking” is an exaggerated version. To get the color blocking look you want to go for bright and bold colors. There are some rules to follow, however, and here they are:

LOUDER THE BETTER: If there’s never been a better time to wear loud pops of color, it’s now. Take advantage of the opportunity to be loud for no reason and still be fabulous.

CLASHY ATTIRE ONLY: Don’t be afraid to clash. We’re so used to the same coordinating colors but try pink and red. Try navy and black. If you’re hesitant, you can always stick to the old faithful complementary color wheel (see below). That thing is fail proof.

K.I.S.S.: Keep It Simple Sister! This look will look best with neutral accessories. Grey is the new neutral tone. Grey belts, shoes, accessories will compliment your outfit nicely.

THREE’S THE CHARM: Stick to 2 or 3 colors max. Anymore than that and you’re borderline rubik’s cube. No bueno. I’d go for 3. It makes for a more interesting outfit.
